A two-storey rear addition to a pre-war house on the edge of Norwich.
– Broadland District Council Enhancement Award 2018
The building provides a generous new family kitchen with a master bedroom suite over.
The single-storey timber clad ‘pavilion’ forms a positive linking element which does not conflict with existing first floor windows.
The building is timber-framed and clad with handmade brick, in the same English garden wall bond as the existing house. Timber cladding gives a visual connection with the surrounding woodland.
Sliding pocket doors slide into the external walls to give a wide, clear opening onto the terrace.
