We have been enjoying a series of posts on Matt Wood’s website Ruralise about a research project he was involved in before he joined Lucas Hickman Smith back in 2010.
Forest Village started as a sketch-book project, imagining a completely different way of building in a rural context. During 2008 and 2009 Matt developed the idea with Savills Research and the Forestry Commission, but for reasons Matt will explain in his next post, it eventually ground to a halt.
Anyone involved in housing, planning or forestry will find it thought-provoking – and there’s a good twist in the tale!
