John qualified from Newcastle University School of Architecture in 1990. He is a very experienced design and project architect, with a broad range of experience and an excellent track record in the delivery of commercial, public and housing projects, through a full range of procurement routes. John joined Lucas Hickman Smith full-time in 2009.
Past projects include award-winning educational and research buildings at the Institute of Cancer Research and the University of East Anglia, masterplan proposals for the redevelopment of Lowestoft College and refurbishment works at the Bridewell Museum in Norwich.
John’s work is informed by a high degree of environmental awareness – an interest which was exploited when he first worked with Paul Lucas on the Ecotech Centre. Some of his recent projects have been designed to achieve BREEAM Excellent and Code for Sustainable Homes Level 5.
