On Saturday morning The Tour of Britain came hurtling past our offices and The Wood House just up the road. Despite a last-minute down-pour the leading pack and the peloton both successfully navigated the sharp right hand up Melton Road on their way out of town. Each of the two groups of riders – accompanied by police out-riders, camera-cars and support vehicles – took less than a minute to pass, but it was still quite a spectacle.
Above: the peloton passes the Wood House in the tail-end of a down-pour, with the jettied first floor of the house providing some shelter!
